Give peace a chance

Hi friends.

I haven’t written in a while. I’ve been kind of busy lately, figuring things out and what my next step in life ought to be.

A few weeks ago I went to the John Lennon and Yoko Ono PEACE exhibition here in Montreal. It was phenomenal, inspirational, and truly amazing. They really were ahead of their time, promoting peace, art, open mindedness, love, and happiness. The fact that John Lennon was shot for promoting this lifestyle is horribly and terribly ironic. I can just imagine how much change could have happened should he have lived on and continued his legacy with his beloved Yoko.

Here is a poem I came up with inspired by them.

Think. Hope. Love.

Why can’t there be peace?
Everyday there is more war and more hate in the world.
When will it end? How CAN it end?

Take my hand, dear neighbor and friend,
Let’s hope for the best.

Why is there so much anger? Why is there so much rage?
Is this what we intended?
Is this what we want?
Is there no other way?

Think. Hope. Love.
Think.
Hope.
Love.

To dream of the day that the white dove flies in with olive branches,
Is the day we will start a new world.

Our own world.
With no bloodshed.
With no guns.
With no hate.
With no war.
With love in our hearts, and peace in our minds,
Our new world will flourish.

Think. Hope. Love.

the song i’m feeling…

“Guku”- Xavier Rudd.

Xavier Rudd is my favorite musician. And that’s a strong statement.

I love his tunes, beats, words, and his use of all his instruments. Xavier Rudd is truly a phenomenal musician, composer, and performer. In case you’re wondering, he plays ALL the instruments in his song… at the same time! It’s quite an amazing site seeing him perform. I’ve seen him perform 3 times, and each time he’s blown me away. He plays guitar, digireedoo, xylophone, marracas, drums, stomp box, and others, while incorporating all his body parts.. arms, legs, feet, wrists, ankles, voice.. amazing. Not only does he write his own music, he also promotes world peace and green peace, and is devoted to the issues concerning Australia’s Aboriginal communities. He incorporates the controversies that have happened towards them into his songs, and brings in their musical and cultural traditions during his shows and in his music. In every single performance he hangs the Australian Aboriginal flag, not the common blue-union jack-and stars flag. Not to mention, he wears tye dye shirts, performs barefoot, solemnly shaves, and wears bandanas. What can I say, he makes one very sexy hippy.

“Guku”- Xavier Rudd

Well I’ll hold you up again
And I’ll hold you up again
Hold you up again
I’ll hold you up again

I’ll hold you up again
And I’ll hold you up again
You fought and you won
Now my brother, you’re gone
You fought and you won
Now my brother, you’re gone

Well you fought and you won
Now my brother, you’re gone
Well you fought and you won
Now my brother, you’re gone

I’ll hold you up again
Yeah, I’ll hold you up again
You were your country
Deadliest, I’ve seen

I feel it many times
When I shut these eyes
And I feel you many times
When I shut these eyes
Well I’ll hold you up again
I’ll hold you up again
