the song i’m feeling…
“Teardrop” by Jose Gonzalez
Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Feathers on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me makes me lighter
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath
Night, night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Feathers on my breath
Black flowers blossom
Feathers on my breath
Water is my eye
Most faithful mirror
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Feathers on my breath
Most faithful mirror
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath
You’re stumbling into harm
Stumbling into harm
This song is absolutely amazing, and so is it’s music video. The words, the voice, the guitar… I simply cannot express how great it is. The way I interpret the song is that a man is so in love, but falls into temptation and impulse. His guilt is bringing him down. He can’t face himself. Though, he knows he must. Everything becomes dark. While looking into a mirror, he breaks down. Teardrops are his confession of his guilt, his recklessness. In the end, he faces himself with what he’s done, and realizes the harm he’s done.
Beautiful.

Give peace a chance
Hi friends.
I haven’t written in a while. I’ve been kind of busy lately, figuring things out and what my next step in life ought to be.
A few weeks ago I went to the John Lennon and Yoko Ono PEACE exhibition here in Montreal. It was phenomenal, inspirational, and truly amazing. They really were ahead of their time, promoting peace, art, open mindedness, love, and happiness. The fact that John Lennon was shot for promoting this lifestyle is horribly and terribly ironic. I can just imagine how much change could have happened should he have lived on and continued his legacy with his beloved Yoko.
Here is a poem I came up with inspired by them.
Think. Hope. Love.
Why can’t there be peace?
Everyday there is more war and more hate in the world.
When will it end? How CAN it end?
Take my hand, dear neighbor and friend,
Let’s hope for the best.
Why is there so much anger? Why is there so much rage?
Is this what we intended?
Is this what we want?
Is there no other way?
Think. Hope. Love.
Think.
Hope.
Love.
To dream of the day that the white dove flies in with olive branches,
Is the day we will start a new world.
Our own world.
With no bloodshed.
With no guns.
With no hate.
With no war.
With love in our hearts, and peace in our minds,
Our new world will flourish.
Think. Hope. Love.

Richard Avedon
How I love his black and white photography skills. So elegant, chic, raw, edgy, but most of all….. wonderful.
Biography:
Avedon was born in New York to a Jewish-Russian family in 1923. He has worked for astound fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue for many year, being the head photographer from the 1970s to the late 1980s (up until Anna Wintour tookover as editor in chief). He also took pictures of famous stars, such as the Beatles (who featured his photography in one of their albums), Marilyn Monroe, and many others. Notably, Avedon became the first staff photographer of the New Yorker in 1992.
He was an activist for the Civil Rights movements, anti-Vietnam war movements, and others. He took photos of protests of these movements, along with the fall of the Berlin wall.
Avedon spent some years in Europe photographing high-end fashion in Paris after the Second World War. Avedon has many collections, but he is renown for his black and white shots, and his huge prints, some of which are as big as 3 feet. He has won many awards, including the International Center of Photography Master of Photography Award in 1993, the Prix Nadar in 1994 for his photobook Evidence, and the Royal Photographic Society 150th Anniversary Medal in 2003.
In 2004, Avedon died from a brain hemorrhage while shooting for the New Yorker.

bonzie love
while surfing around looking for bridesmaids apparel, i stumbled upon Bonzie Designs, and i am absolutely head over heals in love with their designs! they’re an indeprendent fashion label, originating from Ireland, who create astounding pieces with such elegance! i’m really liking their bolero-shrugs.
romantic, vintage, beautiful, unique, and trendy all swirled into one. i’ve never seen anything like it!
i just love how they use pieces of fabric to create pieces of art.
what’s wonderful about these boleros is that they are so versatile.. they can be dressed up to extreme glamour for wedding and such events, or worn with some jeans or leggings and heels to pump up a night on the town.
many of their styles are inspired from the victorian ages.. you really sense the romanticism behind each piece, and the historic influence in their style.. combining culture, history, trend, and glam is what makes bonzie’s style so special!
They ship internationally!!!!!!! what great news!!
Here’s a few more… I couldn’t resist…

been awhile..
so it’s been awhile since i’ve written. i’ve been pretty busy lately, accommodating to my new living situation. it’s not easy putting your life into boxes, having to figure out where everything’s new place is, and how to adjust. it takes times i guess. time is the best medicine, right?
well, today i put up my new curtains. they’re white and purple. my new room has a sensual-warm-exotic feel with my magenta-brick red wall, Moroccan lamp, mosaic vases, and mahogany book stand. i love it. the walls still feel bare though with no paintings yet, but i’m working on it. i think a place looks naked without paintings, don’t you? paintings really liven up the place and give it character.
it’s ridiculous how many books i have to unpack. it’s as if my parents packed a whole library. honestly, we have more boxes of books than pieces of furniture…!!! insanity. one day i hope to have a huge home with a huge study covered from wall to wall in books 🙂
sad sad sad
After 60 years of greatness, polaroid is no longer going to continue being. They have decided to call it quits, putting their last model, the Land Camera Model 95 on sale. so sad. 😦
Francophilia!
One of my favorite movies is the french movie “Apres Vous“. It’s a funny story how i tumbled upon it- I was in Australia with my father and brother, and we randomly wanted to see a movie (to get out of some sort of even our cousins wanted us to go to- not quite are scene though), so we went to the movie theatre, and the only one that was playing at the time was Apres Vous. Since we were pretty desperate and reasoned it might be fun to practice our french skills, we thought why not.Might i add, i am extremely apprehensive about foreign films. I thought i’d just fall asleep or something. Boy was i wrong! never have i laughed so hard in a movie before. It’s a european style comedy, and it’s such a different sense of humor compared to North American humor. Rather than funny one liner jokes, the whole story as a whole, the different scenarios the characters are put under are just too funny and ridiculous. Check it out! I highly recommend it.

Mexican Sun
mexican eclipse- painted ceramic
I’ve always loved hispanic art which often featured a distinct concept of the sun. I wondered why the sun had such a strong significance in their culture and art, so I looked it up. It turns out that in Hispanic cultures, the sun is associated with positivity, growth, and life, while the moon is its opposing antagonist. The sun plays such an important role in the mexican culture, that even their tortilla’s resemble the powerful sun-in both shape (by being round) and color ( yellow). Further, the sun is responsible for the harvest of the corn, which is whats needed to make tortillas. I think it even goes further and is related to the Aztec Sun God. have you ever noticed that the moon is solemnly displayed on its own? i’ve noticed that the art usually has either only the sun, or an “eclipse” with both the sun and the moon present.
real or waking life?
My friend Leslie made an artistic rendition of us- how amazing is she? The picture’s style reminds me a lot of waking life. Its a creative and original style of drawing/expressions. Love love love!
